Valle Sol Restaurant bar (formerly El Faro Restaurant) is a family owned restaurant reowned for its authentic Mexican food. Valle Sol is still owned and operated by the Cisneros family from Sunnyvale, with Robert Cisneros at the hem. Valle Sol's literal translation is "Valley of the Sun" which was the closest we could come to Sunnyvale. Renaming the restaurant was one way we could acknowledge the city that has been so good to our family. Valle Sol's rich history dates back to the 1950's when it was orginally called "El Chihuahua Restaurant". In 1961 our mother Beatriz Cisneros began working at the restaurant for Greg and Caermela Hernandez under the new name "El Faro". Beatriz was the head cook up until 1971 when she and our father, Tomas Cisneros purchased the business. Upon purchasing the restaurant it instatly became a family affair with all five children, along with the parents, working together to maintain a thriving business. The restaurant very quickly became renowned for its authentic cuisine and friendly family style atmosphere.

After a number of years of success the Cisneros family opened "El Farito Restaurant" in Sunnyvale in the early 1980's and sold it after 10 years of business. In 1994 our mother sufferent a debilitating stroke that rendered her bedridden, yet the family still managed to keep the business running. In June of 2005 the family decided to close the restaurant for renovations and a complete remodel. On April 17, 2007 a day after the untimely death of Beatriz, Valle Sol opened its doors to the public. Although the opening was bittersweet, as a family we feel compelled to dedicate the re-birth of the restaurant to our dear and loving mother who worked so hard to fulfill her dreams of opening a restaurant and giving her children a better life. On behalf of our mother and the rest of the Cisneros family, we would like to thank our long time customers for their enduring patience and welcom them back home. We also welcome and encourage all our new patrons to come and experience the best dining experience our staff can give.
